In this presentation we will learn about the basic building-blocks of cryptography and computer security (hash functions, symmetric key encryption, and asymmetric key encryption). We will then discuss how these ideas are used to provide things like secure email, secure web-surfing, etc. Understanding these concepts will help you know exactly what that little padlock in your browser really tells you.
