Mozilla Prism is a cross-platform application and Firefox add-on that lets users split web applications out of their browser and run them directly on their desktop. With it, you can run things like GMail, Google Docs, Zimbra, Jira, Facebook, Google Calendar, Campfire, etc. in their own separate mini-application with their own notification, icon, and so forth.
In my presentation, I'll go into the development of cross-platform web-based apps that can be distributed as separate mini-applications based on Prism. I'll go into how bundles are put together as well as how to extend them with prism built-in javascript hooks for different events (like startup and shutdown) and uses (like notification and auto-refresh).
